The Romans installed Cobblestone Pavers in their streets and sidewalks over 2000 years ago. The Roman Masons developed a simple system for building roads. The system consisted of a well-compacted base covered with a tight fitting cut stone. This produced an excellent and economical roadway that remained virtually maintenance free in all types of weather. A marvel of its time, many of these roads are still in use today. Richard Lacy was trained by a Danish Mason, the oldest and time-tested trade of Masonry. The Danish Mason saw in Richard a natural born gift for the Masonry Trade. An expert at masonry installations of all kinds, Richard was born and raised in Fresno and became a licensed masonry contractor at the age of 20. The masonry trade is generally passed down to those who have natural craftsman ability in masonry construction and are not afraid of HARD WORK. The R. Lacy craftsmen are handpicked and trained by Richard.
